D'Alesi could always be relied on to do attractive travel posters, and this one is a fine example of the way he clearly shows all the advantages of a place: we can see that there is a convenient rail connection, a hotel with the inevitable casino, a castle up on a hill, and spectacular Alpine vistas. Uriage-les-Bains is a small spa with a spring of sulphur-rich water, located in a green fertile basin which was probably once a lake bed. The castle dates from the 13th century.
