Lady sits on couch speaking with two gentlemen with billiards games progressing in background. Anton Utrillo executed at least two posters for this Barcelona Cafe which featured billiard tables as its chief attraction; in both of them an elegant lady is prominently in view, so as to assure women that it is a respectable place for them to patronize. The artist composed the scene well, putting the billiard action into a rather indistinct medium distance so that the group in the foreground stands out in contrast.
