All the characteristics of constructivism, with a nod to its precursor cubism, are in evidence in this Soviet poster for a state-operated cigarette factory. The text, in strong typography on red background, says: ""In quality there's strength; demand our cigarettes everywhere."" The jaw-breaking name on the bottom is one of the countless acronyms produced by government bureaucrats; unraveled, it should read ""The Don Basin National Tobacco Factory"" of Rostov, a major town on the Don River.

*Images are purposely low resolution on this site, actual prints are well focused and the cleanest possible editions. We remain true to the original poster's size and best resolution. We retain the original aspect and as high a resolution as possible of the artwork. There will be white space around the image as we do not alter the original dimensions of the art when printing.
