Midland Railway 0000-2664

A prolific caricaturist and illustrator who worked for a half dozen Paris periodicals, Gray also designed posters for several cabarets as well as other clients, and was comfortable using a number of different styles. Most of the time he would meticulously draw a beautiful young woman and let her take care of the sales message. Here she's a windblown yet charmingly self possessed traveler standing on a map of France, gazing across the Channel at the extensive Midland rail network that will take her anywhere in England.
