36e Exposition Canine de Briard 0000-2653

If this was, as we suspect, Doigneau's only poster, then it was the very best one for him to be involved with: he was a professional painter of country scenes, especially children with animals, and the advertised occasion is not only a dog show but also an exposition of painters and sculptors specializing in hunting activities. His sure touch with animals can be discerned in this tender scene, done in only two colors, mustard and yellow.
