Done in the manner of an engraving, this finely drawn poster for Le Petit Journal shows a poignant moment from the novel being serialized in the paper: a pretty flower-seller offering her wares to a fine lady on the Champs Elysees. The human interaction is dwarfed by the trappings of the large carriage with its twin coachmen and massive black horse team, and the occupant has no idea that the vendor is her long-lost sibling. Will the lady learn the truth? Will the two reunite? You'll have to read to find out.
