Margeurite Anita Cortez was actually born near Paris, but studied in Madrid and developed a liking for Spanish-style dance, so she affected an appropriate stage persona. According to Colin, she was his mistress for a time. She appeared as a dancer at the Paris Opera and also in several films. In the design, Colin creates an almost shimmering effect using only white for highlights and mustard for shadows, all against a stark black from which the letters of her name are conspicuously dropped out.

Giclée Art Prints are printed on museum-quality art paper.

Our modern black wood frames are handmade in the USA and feature acrylic glazing and quality matboard.

All of our images are digitized from the original artwork or original negative, then printed and assembled in the USA to museum standards by our master printer.

All of our products are custom made by hand to order. Please allow 3–4 weeks for production and an additional 1–2 weeks for shipping anywhere in the world.
