A charming domestic scene advertises a tea importer. The cat was obviously expecting a dish of milk that would be used in the making of cocoa, the company's other most popular product. The girl is Steinlen's daughter, Colette, and the woman is probably his wife Emilie. More than any other poster artist, Steinlen attracts us by an overpowering charm and sympathetic treatment of his subjects.

*Images are purposely low resolution on this site, actual prints are well focused and the cleanest possible editions. We remain true to the original poster's size and best resolution. We retain the original aspect and as high a resolution as possible of the artwork. There will be white space around the image as we do not alter the original dimensions of the art when printing.
