A deliciously sophisticated design for the very first of all film festivals; unfortunately, due to the tense situation in Europe (on September 1, Hitler invaded Poland), it was postponed, but Cannes never forgot, and re-scheduled it at the first opportunity - in 1946. They should have repeated Domergue's design as well.
