This vivid and dynamic propaganda poster was created during the Spanish Civil War to support the Republican defense of the Basque Country (Euzkadi). A determined woman, symbolizing the spirit of resistance, rallies Republican troops beneath the Ikurriña (Basque flag), as soldiers surge forward with bayonets and Catalan banners at their side. Above, enemy bombers — likely referencing the infamous air raids like Guernica — threaten the land. The bold, modernist forms and vibrant colors are hallmarks of anti-fascist design in the 1930s, emphasizing unity, resistance, and the valor of regional identity in the face of oppression.
