In the days before Castro, Havana was the cultural center of the Caribbean. Here, to advertise the Second Amateur Central American Games in that city, the artist gives us a heroic relay runner lit boldly against a map of the region, with the island of Cuba arched like a leaping grey dolphin in the Caribbean sea. It's a shame that we don't know anything about the artist: His figure is magnificently modeled, and his restricted use of color is particularly effective.
