India Australia on the P O Oceanlines 0000-1064

The sheer romantic indulgence of ocean travel practically gushes off the of the paper for this promotion of the British Pacific Orient Line and their service to India, Australia and points in between, including ports in the straits of China and Japan. As opposed to other advertisements for the company that emphasized the mysteries of the exotic East, Michael chooses the shipboard life itself as the seductive thrust of his design, bathing the scene in golden wash, upping the ante of the swoon of the ladies for the dashing officer in starched dress whites. And what daily drab could resist this allure, especially seeing as all this wish fulfillment is available for the affordable indulgence of a tourist class fare.
