Chicago-born Katherine Dunham developed her own school of black dance between 1931 and 1945, after which she toured the world with her troupe for the next 15 years. This jazzy, hip-popping portrait is filled with the vivacious movement Colin always poured into his depictions of dancers. Another version of this image exists without the second line of text announcing the Theatre de Paris appearance (see PAI-XXI, 221). Giclee Prints are printed on heavy matte finish 180gsm German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Entry Level Art Prints are printed on 250Gsm satin paper. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.
