The buffalo is frequently seen in Wild West lithography, and this is as it should be, since Col. William F. Cody (1846-1917) derived his pseudonym from them. In another version of this same design, Cody announced he was coming to France with the words Je Viens. Now, on his return to America, after a wildly successful European tour, he translates it into English. In either language, it is a superb poster.
