O'Galop's Bibendum nonchalantly shows off and clearly enjoys the smooth ride provided by his pneumatic brethren. The Michelin Man made his poster debut as he prepared to imbibe a cocktail of rusty nails and broken glass, presumably to demonstrate his durability. The venerable Latin phrase ""Nunc est bibendum"" (Let us drink) appeared at the top of the image and apparently many people thought ""Bibendum"" was the figure's name. Hes been known in France by that name for the last century, making him one of the longest lasting advertising images in the world.
