Though always urbane, the character of the PKZ man varies; this one combines urbanity with a powerful impression of importance. Amhold worked in Basel during the early 1920s, then for Wolfensberger in Zurich, where he created important posters for PKZ, Suchard chocolates and Hurlimann beer. He moved to Vienna in 1935 and from there to new York in 1955.
