Cheret executed more than 60 posters for the Folies-Bergere between 1874, when the first major expansion of business took place.and 1897, the very zenith of its success. The names of the revues hardly matter, as all were meant mainly to present beautiful girls in attractive settings, and for Fleur de Lotus, Cheret makes a spectacularly exuberant design, a masterpiece of graceful motion and pure joy.
