Pears was another Underground stalwart, creating 44 posters for the service between 1913 and 1936. This design is from a series that reinforces loyalty by identifying different consumer types, much like Shell's and These people use and prefer campaigns. Here, Pears uses his illustrator's skills in a humerous vein to demonstrate that the Underground makes movie houses so accessible that anyone can walk in at any time. Good for latecomers, not so good for the seated patrons who have to stretch and crane to see the overripe love scene on the screen.
