This brilliant poster was evidently the best design ever created by an otherwise obscure native of Basel. In October of 1939, World War II had already been waged in Europe for more than a month and many sports meets were canceled, but the Swiss, jealously guarding their neutrality, held the event as scheduled.

*Images are purposely low resolution on this site, actual prints are well focused and the cleanest possible editions. We remain true to the original poster's size and best resolution. We retain the original aspect and as high a resolution as possible of the artwork. There will be white space around the image as we do not alter the original dimensions of the art when printing.
