The design makes it clear that Pau is the target of the contestants gathering for the race. The front runners are a blue Gordini and a red Ferrari. Unfortunately, the artist's signature is indecipherable. The Grands Prix de France is not the race known as the French Grand Prix, oddly enough. In this particular event at the 1.7 mile long Pau course, the winner in 1952 was Alberto Ascari.
