During the 1920s, the self-taught Ruklevsky worked at Goskino, the state-owned film distribution organization. A number of his posters, such as this one for an ""American adventure film in four parts,"" were joint efforts. The design juctaposes two large photographic portraits of stars William Desmond and Eileen Sedgewick with small action stills that give an idea of the thrills and romance to come.
