French fans are invited to a day at the races at German's leading course, the huge Nurburgring, south of Cologne in the Eifel hills. The high realism and compressed perspective, which strongly suggest the use of telephoto lens photographs, lend terrific middle-of-the-action intensity and a very modern look. The same is true of several other fine racing posters Hierl created in the 1930s, including two for the German Grand Prix (also run at the Nurburgring).
