Underscoring its strong condemnation of the inhumanity of war, the film was banned in Germany and Italy, which were at the time being whipped into a frenzy by their fascist governments. In a radical departure from standard film promotional rules, Lancy portrays neither the actors or the action, but presents, instaed, an alegorical antiwar composition. The original poster has sold at auction for $2,500 - $3,000.
