This two-sheet image is the first officially-approved poster for the 1928 release of the film. The title becomes a character in the design, its letters serving as frames for action straight from the celluloid. In addition to Einstein, the film was helmed in part by Grigori Alexandrov, the star of Battleship Potemkin.
