Mucha Nouveau Spring Season Poster 0000-1013

Spring, one of the four panels which make up the magnificent Seasons of 1900, is seen here in a version which contains a brief poem in the lower right corner extolling the joys of the season: SPRING, emerging from the mists of winter, brings the joy of the new year with its sunshine and its flowers. Many of the variations of Mucha designs bear the imprint of lithographers in various French cities; it is not clear if Champenois, who licensed these, also printed them or not. Most likely he did.
