Poster produced on behalf of the War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society and the Order of St John of Jerusalem to advertise the 'Penny-A-Week' appeal. The image shows a small child holding a collection tin up to a train driver, who is seen leaning out of his locomotive, offering her money. The picture is reminiscent of the famous and very popular picture of a young boy standing on a platform looking up at a driver leaning out of his window, which appeared in a Southern Railway (SR) poster of 1936.
