Delahaye 0000-2730

The Delahaye is still remembered as a reliable French sports and racing car of the 1930s. It was one of the earliest French brand names, started in 1894 by Emile Delahaye whose first effort was patterned after the German Daimler. The year 1907, when this poster was created, marked the first shaft-driven model advertised here. If we keep in mind that 30mph was considered reckless speeding in 1907, we can give proper credit to the designer's lively imagination in depicting the car in a breakneck race with a speedboat. Rare!
