In 1938, George Bernard Shaw's play ""Pygmalion"" was made into one of the best remembered British pictures of all time, with Leslie Howard playing the linguistics professor who turns flower girl Wendy Hiller into his personal triumph. For Dutch release of the film, Van der Hem serves us a reminder that the story was based on the mythical fable about sculptor Pygmalion who brought his statue to life.
