The slithering serpent of Paradise is tempting Eve with the forbidden fruits of a lotion that is bound to enhance her ""hygiene and beauty"" - although how the miracle preparation will accomplish this feat is left largely to one's imagination. One of Pal's most inspired designs. The artist was born in Bucharest, to a Rumanian family descended from Byzantine rulers. He started his artistic career in London, under the name Julius Medes Price, as a magazine illustrator. In 1900, Pal moved to the United States, where he worked for the auto, film and animation industries.
