This aerial battle climax of the film, with the ape atop the Empire State Building surrounded by vintage biplanes buzzing like bumblebees around him, is depicted effectively in this poster for the French issue of the 1933 classic. Rene Peron was one of the most prolific posterists, creating over 2,000 posters in a fifty-year career, beginning with silent film posters of the 1920s. His film posters are usually very dramatic and well-designed, with the large format of many adding to their impact.
