The poster advertises passenger service to South America by a small French line which later merged into Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique. Georges Taboureau, the Parisian artist who took the name of a New Hersey cape for his pseudonym, was an accomplished maritime specialist whose several designs for the French shipping industry are first-rate. The Lutetia, from whose deck the other liner is being observed, plied the Atlantic between 1913 and 1938.
