A resort on the Basque coast advertises its attractions with a split image: The blue half depicts the sea, the yellow half the Pyrenees mountains and comfortable accomodations. All three elements are represented by well-tanned, beret-topped figures. A textbook solution to a design challenge from a graphic designer of the first rank whom critic Alain Weill terms unjustly unknown. His geometric studies and photomontages are in a class with Cassandre or Carlu (Deco Affiches, p.114).
