1933 Grand Prix de Nimes Poster 0000-1440

Sleek, state-of-the-art race cars roar past an ancient arena in this wonderful design for the 1933 Grand Prix in Nimes, the Roman-built city in southern France. (The arena is still in use today.) Note the horizontal format- rare in racing posters, yet best suited to conveying what is, after all, horizontal motion. Yrrab originally created the design for the Grand Prix in 1932, when it was print by Impressions Modernes with slightly different text on either side at the bottom. Yrrab's real name is probably George Barry, but we found no information on him under either listing. Rare!
