Louis Cottereau, born in Angers, was a speed-demon cyclist possessed of an extraordinary will that enabled him to prevail in spite of his short stature. Like Griffon and the Belgian firm Delin, Cottereau used his factory to turn out motorized vehicles as well as bicycles. Here, both vehicular options are given a promotional share - a bike the preferred ride of the solo excursionist, while the open-air sedan affords the opportunity for a family affair. Abeille was an illustrator known primarily for his numerous contributions to French humor magazines.
