After studying fine and applied art all over Switzerland and Germany, Roesch returned to his native Diesenhoffen in 1907. Leaving only for trips to Italy and Paris he pursued careers and painter, graphic artist and artisan; his interest is the monumental led to many commissions for murals, stained glass and mosaics. This set design - at the Museum of Applied Art in Zurich features a pensive harlequin pushing theater curtains aside to invite us behind the scenes.
