The three generations of a family we see engrossed in their books seem to bear out the text, which in another known copy of this fine poster has the name of the store added in the space at the bottom. It reads, For holiday gifts, you'll find good books at Helbing and Lichtenhahn. This was no doubt a stock poster published by the Swiss book publishers to be used by various stores.
