This poster for a gas industry exhibition has an allegorical figure stepping out of a chariot and carrying a child. The order is quite elaborate, the colors very rich. Jongert was a painter and graphic designer who at one time worked with Roland-Holst as a house painter. After that he spent 10 years teaching art. In 1923, he became director of advertising for an Amsterdam agency. This is his most spectacular poster, He takes credit, at bottom, for its printing as well.
