The beautiful simplicity of the work displays symbols of theater, music and oration alongside a Star of David and a burning hourse or synagogue, with the Hebrew characters present forming a combination of two words in a stirring, direct appeal to God for salvation: \"\"Save me.\"\"  Schwarz, a painter and graphic designer, received his formal training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam and went on to become a member of the Hollandse Kunstenaarskring.
